Notes to Trip Leaders

How to Get a Trip Web Page

We're willing to add a CSC web page for any trip. Leaders do not have to know HTML; they just have to provide complete, accurate information. Interested leaders should provide the following information:

1) Provide complete trip information all at one time. Should be similar to info in newsletter but fewer or more details would also be fine.

2) Info can be provided in any of these formats:
  - HTML
  - plain text (typewritten without a word processor)
  - Microsoft Word documents WITHOUT graphics
  - hand writing or hand printed (only if you really have to)

3) Limit size of graphics to 200x200. GIF or JPEG only. Please avoid use of copyrighted images.

4) Web page info can be sent via email to webmaster02 + @ + ColumbiaSkiClub.org

FORMAT REQUIRED FOR TRIP WEB PAGES (1) Microsoft Word doc with NO CRAZY FONTS! Web platforms do not support the full set of fonts that MS includes, so stick with normal fonts (times, helvetica, courier, arial, etc.)

(2) Or, if you want to use HTML, you should use our template, which has detailed instructions inside it. (Some people make the mistake of thinking the links have to work on their PC; instead, they must work on our web server, so the pathnames must be the way they are in the template. )

(3) Graphics: We prefer to receive graphics as separate GIF or JPEG images (sent as email attachments), which we may resize in order to work on a web page. We reserve the right to omit graphics that are copyrighted.

Address Labels

Tom Neff has agreed to provide a service to your trip leaders -- he will generate up to 5 mailing label sets per trip. Please share this procedure with your trip leaders.

1. Please don't request labels until you at least have 50% of your slots sold, or longer if you have no pressing need to do a mailing.

2. To arrange for labels, contact Tom Neff (301-829-0785 or database@ColumbiaSkiClub.org) at least 1 week before you need the labels. Provide Tom the list of names. Email is preferred. Indicate how many "label sets" you want. (For example, if you want 3 labels per person, that's 3 sets.)

3. Contact Tom Neff when you have sufficent additional slots sold to require a new batch of labels. Indicate how many sets are needed.

4. We'd like to limit the number of label sets to 5 or less per trip.

Note that the entire database cannot be made available since a number of members have requested that their phone numbers and/or addresses be unpublished.
