Rocks State Park hike - a great prelude to the Superbowl!
One very brisk but sunny Superbowl morning, 26 happy, peppy people (and two
dogs) joined me for an energizing 5 mile hike at Rocks State Park.
We climbed a lot of hills and really got our metabolisms running high to get a
head start working off all the party food we were going to be eating later
watching the Superbowl! When we got to the top of the first hill, we got
a really good look at a Black Vulture perched on a large rock as well as some
very scenic views of the valley below. After the vulture flew
away, we were able to pose for a group picture on the rocks. Jeff H.
brought his digital camera along to take pictures of all the lions and tiger
and bears in the park, so I asked him to take a picture of the wild CSC gang.
Be on the lookout for more adventure filled hikes coming this spring and
summer as Bob & Deb will be leading their Appalachian trail hike series
once again this year and I will be leading hikes in areas other than the
Appalachian trail!

| Ten minutes into the hike we get a nice
view from this handy outcropping called the King and Queen's Seat. |
