Columbia Ski Club

[*] 1999 Columbia Ski Club Awards [*]

At last month's meeting we acknowledged our fellow CSC members who have given their time, energy, and commitment to making the Club work so well for all of us over the past year. The Awards committee received over 20 nominations and considered all nominees before selecting the following recipients:

All Star Award - To Allison Coyle for providing outstanding leadership and playing a key role in CSC activities. The key word here is activities. Next to our ski trips, our daily activities are the highlight of the Club, and CSC is one of the most active organizations in the area. Our activities committee is successful due to many people, but it takes one outstanding leader to pull it all together, and Al has been that leader.

Pioneer Award - To Gary Prestianni for providing vision and direction for the Club. This year’s recipient has demonstrated outstanding organizational skills and has been an effective activity leader, taking the Club in new directions. Gary also assumed a key role for the Club - editing our newsletter - and has performed exceptionally well.

Marty Womack Award - To Kitty Imdahl for her unsung dedication to the Club. This year’s recipient is a member whose all-around support is exemplary. Kitty has served in various positions in the Club, including President, and worked on numerous committees. She has led many outstanding ski trips, and has the highest level of dedication and concern for the Club.

Additionally, last year's President, Karen Thorn, honored Ken Sall with the 1999 President’s Award for his outstanding support to Karen and the Club, most notably in his roles of Website Guru and Membership Czar.

The brand new CSC "Mogie" Award (mo-gee n: [prob. deriv. of mogul, Scan. for mugi - a big bump] was also presented to the following individuals for their outstanding contributions to the Club and its activities: Karen Jarboe (Awards), Lance Siegall (Awards), Bill Eskew (Ski Trips), Bob Craig (Ski Ed), Sue Muller (Activities) and Deb Goldner (Activities).

Many "Thanks" to Karen Jarboe and Lance Siegall for their help on the committee for the past three years, and "Congratulations" to all of this year's recipients!
