COLUMBIA SKI CLUB 2004 AWARDS RECAP

At the April 2004 General Meeting, we recognized the following people

for their contributions to the club over the past year:

 

MOGIE AWARDS -- presented to CSC members for their noteworthy contributions to the club over the past year

Ted Dietz – our Audio Visual specialist, the Breckenridge Trip Leader, and Board Secretary, among many things.

Alexa Fair – who added a new theatre department to our list of activities.

Ron Fedorczak – our club founder who continues to give so much … he’s organized several activities, created the ski trip survey, and offers his house for many CSC meetings and pre & post trip parties.

Jeff Headlee – our membership chair and Jackson Hole assistant leader among many things.

Jim Leavy – who does a lot of the behind the scenes work on the CSC website including creating the new activities database.

Sue Muller – surely everybody has been to an activity Sue has run.   She also found time to assist on the Snowmass Trip.

Sherry Panzer – Sherry & Steve invite us into their home about once a month for what has become a nationally recognized concert venue.

Kathy Pohlmeyer – who ran one of the best crab feasts ever and was the Killington Assistant.

Joyce Wronka – among the many things Joyce does for the club, she is always at the door greeting people, she was the Elections Chair, and organizes all our dances.

 

BLACK DIAMOND AWARD -- presented for his contributions as leader of ski trips and other overnight activities.

Gary Battel – who for many years has organized outstanding ski trips including this year’s to Jackson Hole.  Gary also served as a Board of Director and was a vital part of our Treasury Committee.

 

CHAIRLIFT AWARD -- presented to a CSC member for his or her outstanding administrative contributions.

Lisa Jaworski – who has done a fantastic job this year coordinating our meetings, bringing us outstanding guest speakers, organizing a charity auction, producing a fashion show, and more.

 

MARTY WOMACK AWARD -- presented to an unsung hero, providing all-around support for the club’s activities.

Rob Foard – who is always there to help – be it the Crab Feast, CSC Dances, carrying canned goods for charity out to Sue’s truck, or anywhere else we need help.

John Wetterau – who was a vital link for our treasury committee over the past year.  John also helps out in many other behind-the-scenes capacities.

 

PIONEER AWARD -- presented to the CSC members who provide vision and direction for the club, making things happen.

Rich Krell & Steve Panzer – who brought a new life to the Trip Committee by bringing in new committee members, finding new vendors to work with, and running a very successful ski season.

 

ALL STAR AWARD -- presented to the CSC members who provide outstanding leadership, playing a key role in CSC activities.

Bob & Deb McCune – who are the driving force behind the club’s motto, “We do more than ski!”.  Bob and Deb give countless hours and energy as chairs of our Activities Committee.

 

HAPPY HOUR AWARD -- for a person who does a great job organizing happy hours and any other events where we can drink.

Ron Cote – Ron enjoys life, and he tries to make sure we all do too.  His happy hours and ski trip have all been a blast!

 

ED GRAF LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD – presented in honor of her lifetime contributions to the club.

Kitty Imdahl – Kitty truly has given much of her life to the Columbia Ski Club.  She has led many, many trips; she’s served as president; spent time on the Board of Directors; represented the club at BRSC meetings; led activities; and much more.

 

PRESIDENTIAL AWARD -- presented to the outgoing president for his service.

Kevin Smith – who did an outstanding job as last year’s president. Kevin gave quite a bit of time and effort to continue the success of the club, and it truly was a successful year.

 

PRESIDENT’S AWARD -- presented by the outgoing president to the CSC member who has provided outstanding support this year.

Terry McClung – for his service as Vice President, his leadership in the club, and support for Kevin throughout the past year.

 

Congratulations to all the award winners!

Thank you to those award recipients and everyone else who gave so much to the club over the past year.
